Duncan TB-4 is correct, at least that´s what was in all of the ones I´ve seen firsthand so far....

I had the sweetest Friedman KE1
Yes, it was a Duncan TB4 that was stock.
It was professionally converted to stringthru, and the conversion was nearly flawless! You could only see the slight "ghosting" where the Kahler hard tail once sat. I have pics of it, but need to find them. When I do I will happily post them.

Ken was that one that ended up with Jack Frost...trans black with matching headstock? The clear was flaking on the back around the string ferrules?

Yes...I believe it did finally end up with Jack. Jack wanted it when I had it, and he missed me selling it by a couple of days!

The finish had not been flaking from around the ferrules when I had it. Like I said, the only evidence of the original hardtail was the ghosting and the screwholes (which were plugged)..and you still had to look hard to see those.

After you sold it the clear started chipping off around the ferrules unfortunately...it's got a Kahler on it too now and a chrome covered hum at the bridge [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

Dude...it sounded and played killer!! Unfortunately, it was too heavy (as most Kellys are) for my tastes, and that's why I sold it. I've owned several Kellys, and all of them, as much as I love the shape, are way too heavy for me.

I have three of them, and I much prefer them to the KV2's that I have... They are just more versitile. The Jazz in the neck allows me to play more stuff in church...

Depends really. Put it through a play test before you do the swap. If you like it I think it is a fair trade.
