  • JE-1000 Active Electronics Question

I recently picked up a 1989 Jackson Soloist that has the JE-1000 active electronics loaded. The pickups are 2 J200 single coils and J80C in the bridge. I was wondering if anyone knew what the 3 little on/off switches do that is mounted on the ciruit board. Thanks, Dave

    Re: JE-1000 Active Electronics Question

They act like jumpers on a motherboard. They give you 2^3 (in other words 8) different combinations that correspond to a different resonant frequency that the the trim pot will boost.

      Re: JE-1000 Active Electronics Question

I think of the JE1000 a simple 3 band EQ -> treble boost on/off, mid boost on/off, bass boost on/off.

Thanks!! That explains why the guitar sounded a little TOO bright. When I opened up the electronics, only the #1 switch on. Thanks for the link to the Jackson electronics user manual. Appreciate the help, Dave

            Re: JE-1000 Active Electronics Question

Be aware that no one here really knows what combination of up/down on the 3 dip switches correspond to what frequencies. You'll just have to experiment.
