• Hello All!

I'm somewhat of a newbie here, just registered last week. But not a newbie to Jacksons. But I've strayed a bit and now I'm back. I just got a Jackson LE88 #132 and I must say, nice guitar. It's dead mint and came with all hang tags, COA (does anyone know if that's a real sig. from Grover Jackson?) and a 1988 Jackson catalogue with all 4 forms to draw graffics to submit to the Custom Shop. I've seen these 88's once and a while but never bit till this one. What surprises me is the thick tone from the neck pickup, which looks like a single but sounds like a humbucker. But I'm not quite sure what all 5 positions on the switch do. Any help with that?

Anyway, I can say I'm finally back to the love of my youth. After boucing around with Ibanez, BC Rich, Gibsons, Fenders, etc... I finally remembered what a nice axe Jacksons are. It took me buying a SL2H in Bengal Tiger Graffic from Drum City Guitar Land to bring me back. Jason gave me a great deal on a new-old stock. I'm glad I'm back and thanks to all the forum members for the intellegence I've gained here...

Les pauls and Fenders are nice but nothing feels like a Jackson.

Welcome to the forum, Bengal. Pics of your guitars are mandatory here!! I too have bought a guitar from Jason. Not a screaming good deal, but a guitar I really wanted, so it's all good. Pull up a chair and join in the madness. Your collection of Jacksons is about to multiply. Don't think so? Just wait till the GAS kicks in.

Re: Hello All!

welcome to the forum. It's great here. Lots of good people and they can always help you out.

about the five way switch, if all of the pickups have pole pieces visible, then do this.
plug the guitar into an amp, and touch a screwdriver or a butter knife or something metal to a pole piece of each pickup, one at a time, and switch the five way around. When a pickup is turned on by the switch you will here the screwdriver scraping on the pole piece through the amp. If your amp is too loud you will hear the scraping faintly no matter what position the switch is in, but the pickups that are on will be much louder.
don't worry, you won't get shocked or anything, unless you are barefoot in a puddle of water and are holding a metal rod in a lightning storm while you are doing this.
