People seem to be having a lot of problems w/ UPS as of late. Definetly sucks. IMO there is a niche market waiting to be filled in the fragile shipping business. I would definetly be willing to pay a premium for a customer friendly super secure responsible shipping company.

I've been shipping with both FedEx and UPS for many years. Unfortunately they both damage stuff at about the same rate. I recently got in a KE2 that had a hole punched right through the middle of it!

I feel like I've won the Powerball. I had my Soloist shiped via UPS [img]graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img] .... over a year ago. Reading about all those screw-ups I can't believe it got through in one piece.

I've got friends in both companies (UPS and Fed-Ex), and they've all said one should NEVER put the word "fragile" on packages. That's like asking the teenage punks they hire to do the warehouse stuff to assault it. Try to make the package as inconspicuous and plain-looking as possible. Sad, is it not? [img]images/icons/frown.gif[/img] Somebody should start a company just to deal with delicate and precious items. I'm sure antique and art collectors would love it, as well as musicians.

OK...Here's the update. First I wanna say [img]graemlins/notworthy.gif[/img] MATT=DA MAN. [img]graemlins/notworthy.gif[/img] I have talked to Matt at least once a day since the guitar arrived damaged, and he has tried really hard to get another SLATQH in my hands. He even offered to call other dealers to get me what I wanted. But, I decided to just wait for the Jackson people to pop me out another TBK SLATQH....They are definately worth waiting for. In my case, probobly another 90 days or so.

When the UPS guy came to pick up the damaged one, I scolded him like a dog: [img]graemlins/nono.gif[/img] "Baaaaad UPS guy...Baaaaaad" [img]graemlins/nono.gif[/img] He just looked at me kind of funny, and handed me my receipt.
