Re: Stars Rule?

This thread is forcing me to consider getting a Star, when I have already decided on something else!

They are all making me

Jackson logo's in red and they both had kahler non-trem bridges! Can't remember the serials, but they were both made in Ontario Feb/March of 87! Im not hoping to get them back after 17 years, but ya never know! i would even take up a loan on my house to buy them back!

Re: Stars Rule?

he is a dealer, so pretty good chance he would sell it ...just go to nealsmusic.com and you can find it listed on there (and don't be scared away by the price...it's probably negotiable). I think it passed through quite a few hands before it made its way to Neal. I'm not in anyway saying that Neal or any previous owners knew its history, if in fact that is the same guitar.

Re: Stars Rule?

Either i need to get my eyes checked or this is not the same guitar as on my original picture!
If you look very closely at these pics, and especially the red jackson logos, i noticed that the logo position is more to the right of the headstock on neals guitar!
It also came with a jackson active pickup with push/pull boost in the vol. somebody could have changed that though.
the only way to really tell them apart because of the crappy photos is at looking at the logo real close.
any photoshop buffs in the house that could clean up these pix and tell me what they think?
also im pretty sure that my axe did not have binding on the headstock, neck only. neils has binding on both. cant really tell because of the shitty pic

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I think the logo looks to be in the same position on both. For example: on your guitar the "point" of the J in Jackson lines up to the right of the A-string tuner, as it does in Neal's pics. The point of the 'k' is to the left of the G-string tuner, sames as in Neal's, and the 'tail' of the 'n' points right to the high E-string tuner. I'd say this is your guitar (really, how many blue Jackson stars with red logos can there be?). It's possible that the headstock binding was a later addition.

Re: Stars Rule?

Not to steer a guy away from a long lost loved one, but $2,500 would get you a real nice new custom shop neck-through Star. Or, heck, it'd get you most of the way towards two of the new USA Standard Charvel Stars, which are bolt-ons. Just something to consider.

do you have the serial # for the guitar? was there a police report filed? If you can prove it was yours, the seller may cut you some slack if he's a decent guy.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I agree with your analysis. In those pics, the logo does look like it's placed slightly differently between the two. But it's so close it wouldn't be a bad replacement. I would try to play the numbers with Neal on the $2500...I'll hazard an educated guess and say that he's not nearly that deep into it.

Im pretty sure this is not the same axe.....someone must have really liked it at the custom shop and had anotherone made
