my solar looks orange in person. it photographs orange also...is yours really that sunbursty? if so, damn it's killer. i always wanted a chlorine, it was first color choice. great quilt on the new one!!

I have a Chlorine on the way...should be here on Monday...its apparently one of the original run PC1s with a Koa back...due to this thread, the wait is now officially killing me!

Mr G....I have no reason to believe it's a NAMM guitar (chlorine) but I am very pleased with the quilt on this one. It seems that the brand new ones generall sell for around 1500-1800 depending on the dealer. I got this for a butt hair over 1200 and it is brand new. I have seen some pop up for the 1200 range and I seemed to notice that the quilt on those was not very good. So, I am very, very lucky to get a great price and a great quilt.

The solar has a pronounced burst but it is more of a rust color out towards the edges. It does have a bit of a reddish tint but the pics don't look as accurate as I'd like. Pix of the chlorine, however, are fairly accurate.

DJM...I just compared the weight of my SL1 EDS made in 98 to this chlorine PC1. The Soloist is about a 1/2 pound heavier. This was on a bathroom scale so I can only estimate their weights at 6.25 and 6.75 pounds. Soloist is definitely heavier.
The body shape of the PC1 is very close to the Soloist shape. Onl;y a couple of minor differences. If I ever find a really inexpensice PC1, I will put a Jackson maple/maple Floyd'd pointy neck on it. I have a neck just laying around that's probably a 400 dollar neck and it'd be a great mod to an older PC-1. I love pointies. I'd make that one my main live ax. [img]graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]

I have a Chlorine PC1 I have had for about 3 years & I don't think Jackson makes a better guitar.I seem to play it more than any other guitar I own & it shows.The finger board is stained from playing.I seen Def Leppard in concert back a year or so & Phil was playing a diamond plate PC1 it was the most awesome one I have seen to date.

Nice looking guitars. I love the understated, dignified look of the maple neck without inlays. The gold hardware goes great with both finishes.
