Re: Greetings, what is it?

25th anniversary OK that would solve that question. If they had just used the ser# in order it would be so easy to date these guitars. But think of all the fun we have trying to figure this stuff out.Cool guitar I want it!!
Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Re: Greetings, what is it?

The "25th anniversary" means that it's commemorating something that occured in 1964. Could be something related to GC again, as their 35th anniversary was in 1999. I wonder if there is something unique about 46 guitars being in the series - seems like an odd choice for a number of guitars in a limited-edition series.

And like everyone else...

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">For what it's worth, I sent an e-mail to GC's "Vintage Dept." to see if they could shed any light on this one. I'll post whatever info I get from them.

Re: Greetings, what is it?

Guys, read the posts; 25th Anniversary - Guitar Center had their 35th Anniversary in 1999, which means their 25th was in 1989 - mystery solved: it's a USA Jackson made for Guitar Center (obviously established in 1964).

There's no need to contact Guitar Center and ask them anything - they've probably changed hands and are not interested in those guitars enough to dig through their records, and they certainly aren't more or less collectible/valuable than any other 1989 USA Dinky (with the obvious exception to a Kahlered one being less, and an ebony/finned one being more).
The paintjob and Guitar Center factor will not affect price.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I just got an '89 in this body style and Jim Shine told me that this body style is what actually became the "Strat 24" (http://www.jacksonmuseum.com/archive...-90-page53.jpg). I also have a Dinky from '89 and its body styling is different - it doesn't have the scallop on the lower horn and has more squared-off body edges.

Re: Greetings, what is it?

That's what I figured it was by the anniversary issue and the way it was ebgraved in the cc cover, and the paint job. I want one. I have the other 2 GC anniversary guitars and that's the only one Im missing. It's also the only US made GC
Anniversary guitar made. And Yes Newc is right. GC was founded in August of 64. Just two months after my birth. Coincadence? maybe, maybe not.
My initails are also GC. Aww man I think i just hurt myself with that one. Anyway. Yeah ITs a GC 25th Anniversary obviously. They did acouple of colors of these red, blue, and I think a green too. Ive seen more red ones though. But never seem to be able to get a hold of one. I would say it's worth about 400-500 bucks US accoriding to research I've done and previous posts here about them. If ya want to sell let pm me.

Re: Greetings, what is it?

It is a guitar center 25th Anniversary(duh) guitar 41 of 46 made in the month of Aug 1989.

I have a 30th anniversary and I guess they decided not to give mine
Jackson plates.

mine

Somebody went crazy with knobs on mine, supposed to have one knob and two of these BL(like front). The black is actually a pearl. I have also seen puple like mine.

Sorry to be a boner and post it as a 35th Ann., amazing what one # off does sometimes. I kinda thought it was a GC, but have we decided it is a Dinky? Of the 3 Jacksons I have owned, this one is the most likely to become a long-term main squeeze type axe since it really fits me well and plays just how I like 'em to. It is a riot to come here to this forum and see pics of the 2 previous Jacksons I have owned in the posts, the other being a Bikini Beach Fusion with a jumping Dolphin on it (pic in the gallery posted by Joe-shot on my deck!). I recall when selling the Fusion the gentleman who bought it was very "in the know" about the guitar and also a cool guy, so I'm not surprised to find the same type of people here at JCF. Thanks for the welcome and the interest in helping a newbie out, I'll be hanging around here and will hopefully continue my Jacksonification studies with the help of you kind folks. Peace.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Hey how the hell are you? Last time I talked to you you were more into Ibanezs as players. Pretty cool guitar you got a hold of this time. I would definately hang on to it. You don't see many 24 fret dotted USA's around with schallers. Most have the JT6(yuk) cast thing. Thanks for the guitar, I play it a lot. Somehow its the only guitar I have with 2 hb(which is my favorite). The duncan in it is pretty hot and the front pickup sounds really creamy. I used your pic cause it was on my harddrive. I never have figured out a use for the extra knob I have it set up with 52's like it had on it when I got it, I have it tuned to straight D and I can have a dropped C if I want. So basically I use it for the heaviest stuf.

I keep thinking about replacing it with a plated Jackson, cause I can't afford to buy one outright. But I love it and the neck is great so I don't know if it will every actually leave. I hate to sell its like pulling teeth. If I ever do I will be sure to offer it back to you at the same.

Here she is at home with her sistersin my yard this time . Good to see you hanging around again, best to you
