Nice group! The Collen makes me feel kinda funny....like when we used to climb the rope in gym class.

[ QUOTE ] Here is a bigger picture of the Kelly. I've only had it a month, I "stole" it off of someone on E-bay for $760. I've always wanted a silverburst Les Paul, and I've always wanted a KE1. I somehow got them both in the same guitar.

So that was you I always wondered who bought that Ke-1 for 760$ It was a great scoere, I was amazed when I saw it went for that price. I told it everyone here. The cheapest USA Kelly in good condition I saw here was for 1500$
Anyway, I don't love that finish
Well there is a gloss black KE-1 on ebay for the last two months in a very good condition that GC is desperately trying to sell for around 800 dollars. It just doesn't go anywhere. It has been listed at least for the 5th time now, for at least 3 different prices, it just doesn't move.
KE-1s are cheap and they always will be compared to KE-2s.
Not everyone is into one pickup guitars with Kahler fixed bridges and sadly no-one cares much about Friedman anymore.

I also know that but I only saw the last time it was listed. Because they're listing it as "Jackson Marty Friedman Signature" or something like that, but I always search for "kelly" or "ke"

never noticed they dont bind the headstocks on the PC archtop
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, it is bound. The whole guitar is squirted with a blue tinted clear coat, right up over the binding. You can see the cream only on top of the fretboard. The clear is so thick that there is some light finish cracking going on around the nut:

I saw it the first time with a hour left on it, but knew I didn't have the funds to win it at the time. It was sitting at $750, and I bid $800, just on the off chance everyone else forgot to login to E-bay that day.
I think it was good karma paying me back for the fifteen plus auctions I've lost out on a KV1.

losing out on an auction always seem to have a happy ending in long-term prospective.. anyway, that's what I tell myself on those f*//#%° occasions.. btw, cool stuff.. the imports also!
