• Played an interesting Ontario Soloist today.

Made in '90 (going by the serial # and logo). Purple/black diagonal fade. S-S-H, three knobs + 3 mini-toggles. Had the widest neck I've ever encountered on a Soloist, which I loved. Wasn't too thin like on my Fusion, though it didn't feel SD chunky, either. $550 with case, because the headstock had a fairly large (but not structurally compromising) chip on the corner behind the 6th-string tuner, the headstock veneer was cracked near the TR cover (probably caused by the same whack that chipped the corner), and there was a fair amount of rash on the back. Otherwise, everthing was in good shape. What do you guys think of the price, considering the color, unusual neck, and condition?

Is it a custom? (J serial #)
Sounds like 1 anyway.
If so, I'd say it is a fair-good deal.
You can buy U0 USA Select soloists in better shape for around the same price.

Well a beat up one will typically sell for the $550-650 range. If you can get a really nice one for under $700 you're doing really well. They typically sell for $700-$900 in excellent condition.

J serial number may boost the price a little.

You might have to wait and pounce, but I see them go cheaper pretty regularly.

Yeah, I think I remember that one. Only reason I want to track Soloist prices is because I may have to sell my SL2H.

Oh. Sorry man.
All soloists are worth 800 at least.
Anything below 800 is a steal IMO.
A trans blue SL2H with extra custom holes is worth 900 easy.

Hey The Eristic,

Where was this soloist located? The reason I ask is that last year, around September, I was involved with a trade deal on a soloist for an Ibanez. I sent the guitar out to the guy, and after 3 weeks, he said that the guitar wasn't for him and would send me my guitar back. He supposedly sent it USPS, but it never arrived. He gave me an insurance number, but it couldn't be traced.

We went thru the paperwork, but I never got the money for my guitar. He ultimately sent me his Ibanez because he felt bad for the loss and was going thru some life changes.

The soloist that I had was also a purple/black diagonal fade. It had a schaller floyd and it had a piece of the headstock missing at the back of the low E. I would love to get this guitar back, but I have to check the sn, if I still have it.

If you could get me some details, I would really appreciate it.

Thanx,
Peter

Here are some pictures of the guitar i lost. Can you verify if it is the same one that you played?
