hi
although nobody replied to this thread, at least enjoy the pics now
i´m really happy cause it´s mine now
it arrived on friday(in a well used grey jackson chainsaw case ) and i was really astonished about the great finish and shape
it´s in a great shape for a 16 year old well played guitar
sure some scratches on the back but not a single ding or chip
the pics are the sellers pics and seem to be far overlighted
cause what looks like an odd pink-cracle is truly the greatest firecracle i´ve ever seen
it´s a very dark red over a nice orange with huge luminance
she´s definately a keeper

the oiled neck surprised me to be quite dark, well played for years i think
it´s really a helluva player
quickly i screwcounted everything
here´s what i found:
trem cavity painted
neckpocket reads: "Hemila March 17th 1988"
the neck has this huge stamp for all the detailed info but it´s empty
all the stuff seems to be original
cavity plates, knobs, switches, pots
it has even it´s original brass groundplate in the electrics-cavity

the only thing is: i don´t know anything about the guitar, no info from the seller, no paperwork, nothing
if maybe one of you has contact to the CS, i would be very delighted to get some more info about it from the log
don´t you know something about this grover signed series of 100 pieces?
thanks
andy

hey
ive got a similar guitar, only its blue crackle and has only got Grover Jackson on the headstock, nothing about 100 / x
but it looks exactly the same as yours (except the finish)

that´s cool
there are some on the board i think
even 2 of them at the galery
but nobody seems to know something about them
i used the search function till my fingers bled
either there is no info about them yet or i´m too stupid to find it

Re: anyone familiar with #5388 ?

i don´t know exactly about the output
at home it seemed ok to me
i have to check that at the next rehersal
in mine there´s a J-80 built in
the same is in your´s i think

Re: anyone familiar with #5388 ?

There are a lot of guitars from this era with Grovers sig on the guitar somewhere. I guess he was really going for the "future collectable" thing.
There was 100 of these in red and 100 in blue, to the best of my memory. Not very rare or collectable, but cool guitars just the same.
Spend some time at Jackson Museum pouring through the sales folders (88 or so) and you'll find more info.

Re: anyone familiar with #5388 ?

There are few of them for sale at some of the online dealers. This seller has two (at least) for sale with Grover's sig on them: Jacksons with Grover's sig And here's another source with a "Grover Signature" in blue: blue signature

Interestingly, not all of the above guitars are from the "x of 100" series, but it does seem to indicate that Grover signed a good amount of guitars during that timeframe. If nothing else, just enjoy the fact that you got "The Man"'s signature on your axe.

ok
am i right then, that these ones are a kind of production models?
not purchased by someone special?
just built in 2 standards(red and blue) with the rest all the same by the CS and spread over the fields?
or are they a limited run for a (or a group of) music store(s)
someone ever seen the log-entry at the CS for one of those axes?
thanks for your help

Pretty cool, even though I don't care for pink.

I've got the same axe in the same color. My plate is 2099 and the neck is VERY dark! No signature though... ...but plays killer!!!!
