Gang:

OK ... so I'm snagging some new pickups for my Gun Metal Grey WR-1. I'm thinking this is a great opportunity to jazz up the ol' girl with some new colours. I've Photoshop'd up some ideas and want to know what folks think.

As a reference point, I'm a total '80s hair guy. My original order was a Bengal Yellow WR-1, but wound up with the GMG instead (long story).

Any thoughts are appreciated, even if you think they're totally geigh.

    Thanks!

Of the ones you posted, only the yellow/yellow looks cool to me. The purple really does not do it for me. Green/Green might look interesting.

      Cheers,

Have ya thought about matching red pickups? I think that'd be most suitable to the gunmetal. Two white or light cream ones might also go ok with the binding.

Rockin' thoughts, gang. I mocked up the suggestions so far of two green, two red, and two cream (white looked a little too stark, cream looked great).

Feel free to toss out other ideas and I can post 'em ... advance apologies to folks on modems!

Hehe, it's funny You made this thread cuz I've seriously been tossing around the idea of getting some colored PUPS in My Warrior soon. I've got the Yellow Warrior that I posted pics of in a thread a few days ago. Really considering Purple/Green configuration for mine.

For GMG, mmmm I would go orange/orange or orange/purple

Red-Red looks best IMO. I always liked that on the Gibson Voodoos....just didnt' like the cheesy finish and weird inlay.

With that in mind I really like the purple/green combo in the first pic.

But a GMG Warrior is a pretty classic metal guitar. I would probably go with something like the white/white or maybe a cool zebra combo that complimented the ebony and the pearl inlays.

                          BTW, GMG rocks.

I liked the cream/cream the best. The green/green reminds me of an Ibanez Jem

Double creme! The yellow looks cool, too.
Or how about instead of having the whole pickup one color, why not have one coil color different from the other like a zebra? Maybe a red/creme on one, black/red or black/creme on the other, etc.
