• SL2 vs. SL2H

I just scored an SL2 off ebay for a great price. I used to have one in gun metal grey and now this one is black (which will get painted). Other than the lack of inlays, different color neck binding and JT580, would you consider this guitar to be equal to a solid color SL2H? I'm going to set the bridge to dive only, which is how I set all of my trems, so replacing the trem may for stability may not be an issue. Is there an reason why an SL2 would be less in demand if it is the same guitar as a SL2H?

    btw, I love blank fingerboards!!!

I think they're cooler than the SL2H, overall. I want a yellow one. A lot of people don't like the hardware, and the lack of inlay scares some folks, so I guess that's why they usually sell for less.

The neck profile on the SL2 is different from a late 90s SL2H. They are rounder compared to a late 90s SL2H.

As for the other era SL2Hs I have zero idea, because the other Soloist i played are late 80s custom shop which IMHO has a slighly skinner neck.

BTW, congrats on the score, i too have a black SL2.
