The SL2H-MAH has a mahogany body and neck, and is only available in trans finishes.

The SL2H has an alder body and a maple neck, and is available in solid, trans and graphics finishes.

    Specs are here.

Well, I can't explain by personal experience, but based on the woods alone:

The SL2H-MAH should be a little warmer with more lower midrange and great sustain.

The SL2H should be a little brighter due to the maple neck and have a little more upper midrange due to the alder body.

One might say smooth vs. snap.
