• Considering an SL1 purchase

I'm considering an almost new 2001/2002 SL1 with that flip flop paint (kinda redish purple?)

The thing is dead mint. is $1000 a good price? I'm thinkin it is. Anyone know about the rarity of the color I'm talking about? If it is even rare.

    Thanks guys.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I'd say go for it. As far as the finish though I'm no help. Is it a sunburst type of finish or transparent or ? I just got an SL1 (amber sunburst for 1000 (still paying for it) but I couldn't be happier with it.

Flip flop paint scheme = Interference, I believe it's called?

That price is in the ballpark. I believe the finish is called "Interference Fireglow." Here's a link to an SL1 that very recently sold for $900 with that finish on ebay.

Thanks guys. Anybody see this 96 1 hum, string through soloist on eBay? I saw one exactly like this one for sale about 5 years ago. Shoulda pulled the trigger then!

That's definitely JCF member Archtop's guitar! I recognize the guitar and his usual backgrounds... check out the Guitar Of The Month link at the top of the JCF to see the same motivic background.

Check out that auction one more time to see that it's MINE!! woooo!!!!

                  My wife kicks much ass!

I was doing one of many daily sweeps of eBay and came across this one, I sent her the link as she was upstairs on her laptop...the next thing I know she sends me a message saying ITS YOURS!!! I was like whoa! She went nuts for the paint job and by the description it sounded dead mint..a great BIN, so she went for it. Looks like all these years she HAS learned quite a bit after all!

Anyway it came in yesterday and its amazing. Dead ass mint, not a mark on it, plays like a dream and the fireglow is unreal in person! I am one happy guy, altho I will be on a selling frenzy soon of non-J/C guitars to help fund this addiction we have with Jacksons!

Anyway, if you have the means, grab it dude, these are great guitars and I do not believe that paint was used for very long...another one of those non-selling guitars Jackson decided to stop production on that are gaining popularity in the secondary market!

Once again a BIG THANK YOU AND I LOVE YOU to Mrs RemCarr, once again she hooked me up unexpectedly...what a woman!

                  be c0ol,

                  Mike

Sounds like you got yourself a great woman! I've always wanted a PRS customs 22 or 24. 2 years ago my wife tells me to just do it. I was floored. Hell I even questioned wether I should spend the money, but she wasn't taking no for an answer. So I know how you feel.

Great ax and great wife! I am going to pull the trigger on the SL1. I'll have to beg borrrow and steal, but it is dead mint! like yours.
