Re: Short scale Soloist??

I will take any combination listed with the exception of the 3+3 headstock. I'd like a reverse or regular classic Jackson style.

        Short scale rules!

          Re: Short scale Soloist??

I'd like to see short scale versions of a couple guitars. A short scale SL2H stop tail would be cool as would a short scale Rhoads and/or Kelly. If they were production models I'd definitely buy em.

            Re: Short scale Soloist??

Based on this thread and several other posts, I think there is enough interest to initiate this LE:

Neck-through Soloist body in ash (no-cost upgrade, per JCS online form), painted Snow White, with oiled, 22 fret, 24.75" scale, maple/maple neck, black headstock, 1H, 1 vol, black hardware, Floyd.

            Whaddya think?

I'd personally like to see it with a slanted, direct-mounted pickup, a lower "horn" contour a la the Fusion, offset dot markers like the Dinky Reverse had, and a Jem-style output jack, but I don't know if enough people would agree on those specs.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Well, quite a few Dinkies have that scalloped horn, some Fusions did not. And some Fusions also had offset dot inlays.

As for the one humbucker/one volume control, I think most people find that limiting and prefer to have a neck pickup, too. The tone control can be done without, but some people also like that, but a concentric pot could easily be added anyway.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">That all sounds good to me but the maple has to be birdseye and I would prefer a reversed headstock.

Black binding would be freaking sweet. A matching headstock + black logo would be cool, too.

Has anyone here ever heard of the Jackson Infinity? Hello?! Is there anybody out there? Oh, ok. It was a 22 fret archtop Soloist with a set neck just like the Soloist Archtop Pro. Dual hums, abalone/pearl diamond inlays, matching headstock, bound body/neck/headstock, JT-590 Schaller tremolo, what more could you ask for? I suggest you guys seek one out, they are not too common but pop up from time. Check the JCF Gallery, some bloke in there owns a blue flamed top Infinity...

I would go for that with full sharkies and a regular headstock, I can`t stand reverese headstocks, but that is getting close!! Jack.

full reverse sharkies would be good too. and maybe a black bodybinding.

So no one has ever seen one? I figured Jackson would have have made one at some point,
either Custom or production, USA or import.

The SLS and Infinity are cool, but I'm talking about just a regular Soloist.
I can't believe it is this hard to find one.

I'm sure someone has ordered a short-scaled custom somewhere over the years, but I don't think a production was done mainly because J/C were always known as "Super Strats"... and we all know Strats have the 25.5" scale.

While we're generating short scale soloists, here's what I'm going to order from the CS, eventually.
