It's on the way!!

I ordered a lefty DK1 in the second week of January and I got the call from KE that it came in. Someone in a previous post had asked how long was it taking Jackson these days to get a guitar made. From the time I ordered it until KE called was 140 days. The guitar isn't a custom shop. It just seems Jackson didn't have any lefties hangin' around, hence the 140 days. Now the waiting for UPS game starts. I'm hoping it's here by next Monday. I'll post pics when it finally arrives.

yea i think leftys are more "rare" so it takes 140 days....matt@mattsmusic said my rr1 will be made in 90 days..so.. ^^

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The finish is Metallic Black. I know it sounds kinda boring. My RR1 is Snow White w/ Pins so I wanted to go with a dark finish this time around. I'm easing my way into a graphic for my 3rd USA next time. I'm thinking about a Warrior.

When I first started playing guitar back in the early '80's, almost all manufacturers tagged on an extra charge for a southpaw and some wouldn't even build a lefthand ax. But I think those days are pretty well gone. Anyways, just curious.

There was a lefty upcharge, but it was so minimal that it didn't really even matter. Without saying what the cost was, it was considerably less than what SouthPaw quoted me back in December. Same with my RR1. I'm also glad to say that when I talked to KE yesterday he said that he just ordered a bunch of different lefty Jacksons.

congrats to you. I ordered this guitar on April 10 2003, I got it Dec. of 2003. I beleive because it was a lefty it took so long. Be prepared to do a lot of dreaming for a while.

I noticed on your headstock that it says Jackson followed by Made In U.S.A.
On my lefty Rhoads I have Made In U.S.A. followed by Jackson. Is it up to whoever is making the guitar? Here's a pic of my Rhoads headstock.

that is an interesting observation. How old is the rhoads? This guitar was completed late 2003.

BTW I paid $1129 for this custom guitar, so I'd have to say I didnt pay any extra for the lefty.
I feel I got a steal.

I'm not sure of the exact date of the Rhoads, but the serial # is: "U12611"
Someone once told me it was made in 2002. I've owned it since Nov. '03.
If anyone can help figure out when it was made it would be very much appreciated.

Congrats on the DK1! 140 days on a lefty is not bad at all. I ordered my black DK1 (righty) on 1/21/03 through OSG (remember OSG?). It arrived 6/30/03 [img]graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img] . I'm sure you'll enjoy the DK1 as I do mine.
