Rhoads Student made in San Dimas. Rosewood, dots, and Kahler are not good for the value.
What color is it? Graphics (pins, art, etc) bring more even with a Kahler and rosewood, but plain-jane's don't really go for a wide crowd.

Early RRs had the RR serial, then they got the J like everything else, then they got U's in 1990.

Dots tell me it is a Student. I have had a couple from this era. It likely has a 3 piece neck, which feel great.

Overall they are great guitars equal in quality to the Custom versions, but have piss poor resale value. Especially with Kahlers.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif"> Rhoads guitars have never had a "J" serial number prefix.

- All Rhoads had the "RR" prefix up until 1990. Essentially, they were all custom orders through then.
- In '90, the USA Select series was introduced for RRs and other models. From '90 until now, any USA Select Rhoads models have the "U" prefix.
- From '90 on any custom ordered Rhoads continue with the "RR" prefix.

$900 is NOT a good deal on a student Rhoads.

$600-$750 range is more fair..
