Why the hell is there a pickguard for just one volume?

Pickguards are ugly enough without only having ONE knob in.

How could someone order that guitar, but not get it 24 frets ?

I bet it was a stock RR, and someone filled in the neck hum recess & refinned it. That would explain the pickguard too.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I would say that it depends on quality of the work. If it looks factory and I wanted that exact guitar, I'd pay that for it. You could go to the CS and pay$$$.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yeah, but didn't the stock RRs have recessed Floyds ? (hard to see in the pic, but looks like non-recessed to me)
