Re: Binding or Not? Custom Soloist

I am leaning that way, I think the headstock would be kinda necked without it Jack.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I don't think it would be too much black. With the ebony board, the transition between the mahogany neck and the board with or without binding wouldn't really be noticeable anyway.

Now, if it were a maple board, I'd go with no binding so that the maple would blend better into the mahogany neck.

no binding since the black binding on the ebony board is going to be hard to see anyhow. if it were ivory or white binding ide say bind it all.

Re: Binding or Not? Custom Soloist

The black binding on the neck is just to cover the fret tang ends, not really for looks, I kinda think the black bonding on the headstock would set off the mahogany. Thanks-Jack.

I know you were waiting for me to weigh in on this issue....black binding on the neck & HS, ebony logo, ebony board...that would look killer.
Now you can make your decision.

Also, Custom Shop script on FRONT of headstock, not the rear.

Here's a pic of black binding on a natural headstock:

I say do binding on the head with a Burned logo -that would be truly unique
How about ebony "Jackson" with burned-on "Custom Shop"?

Re: Binding or Not? Custom Soloist

Ok, got it down to binding on the neck and headstock in black, ebony Jackson inlaid logo, not sure of body binding, whatcha think Yes or No? Also, NEWC the burnt on Made In USA thing sounds very interesting for sure. I deffinately don`t want Custom Shop on the headstock, I have seen it there, and it gets all bunched together with the Made In USA logo, so it`s either no to that or on the back of the headstock like Gibson does. Jack.

Sure, I can`t spell, but I think you are right, maybe black binding on the body is overkill. Jack.

Say yes to binding.

Yes, I tried it, but it doesn`t get me too accurate. I am now just down to body binding or no body binding Jack.
