Was there in fact a PCS Dinky? If so, would it have had abalone sharkfins and gold hardware? I'm trying to figure out what I saw...

Re: IDing a PCS Dinky?
The easiest way (assuming no re-fret) is that the binding should go over the fret ends. I have a feeling the dinkys didn't have PCS serials, but I might be talking out of my ass on that!
There were 2 models of PCS dinky, the Flamed and the Exotic. According to the 1993 catalogue, the Exotic had offset dots on a pau ferro board and gold hardware, the Flamed had sharkfins on ebony and black hardware.
Hope this helps....Popular is not the same as good

Um - not sure but it didn't look quite right to me at the time, but now having looked back at the catalogue, I guess it probably was an Exotic....if I'm honest, I thought the exotics were lacewood or something, so a quilt-top didn't seem right....D'Oh!! Ah well, I missed a trans red one at Matt's a few years back as well...maybe one day Popular is not the same as good

What I saw wasn't a PCS then. I only saw it in passing, but it had a plain black finish, gold hardware, and what I'm 99% sure were abalone inlays.

IIRC there was a run of PCS models that all had the same color scheme - black and gold like Randy's. There was a Mustaine PCS, I know.I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood
