I'm just curious as to why I've never heard of a USA Jackson that is maple neckthrough with swamp ash body wings. We hear about how alder and poplar body wings are somewhat similar sounding, but what about swamp ash?
Don't give me any of this Fender Strat ash body bolt-on crap... those are common enough! However, I do have one question relating to that... are there solid-finished ash Strats? I did a quick scan on Fender.com and didn't see any. Warmoth mentions something about ash absorbing a lot of finish or something.
Just in case you're asking, I've been thinking about a Custom Shop Soloist that would have a maple neck and swamp ash body wings. Non-recessed Floyd trem, of course.
