Re: Maple neckthrough with SWAMP ASH body wings?

Pat , that thing kicks ass, but I need to know, Is it really a CHarvel CS, or is it a Custom shop Jackson SL1 with a Charvel Logo? that body looks dinky to me not full size strat.

Yes, Dinky. And there were plenty of SD Charvel Dinky Strats, so that body style does not necessarily denote "Jackson". Some folks will think to themselves "it's a Jackson" just because it's a neck-through. Personally, I don't see the world so "black and white". And neither does the custom shop. It's a Charvel, bro. Just like the logo says.
And, Xeno, woods are just like pickups. It's all preferences. Sounds like your friend was looking for a darker tone, like mahaogany. If so, he would naturally be disappointed by swamp ash - it's more at the opposite end of the tone spectrum. IMHO, this guitar is extremely toneful. It gets bright, glassy clean tones. Real classic strat-like. And, distorted, it kicks @ss with real bite in the mid/highs. Cuts through a heavy band mix very nicely.
