Should I sell it

OK. so I'm 35 and not a long hair anymore. I've got a SL1 USA Select with Red Ghost Flames, that plays like a dream. But I play in a younger band and the flames just don't fit, and my tastes are kinda changing as I get older. I can't afford to refinish it. Should I just sell it? If so, what ballpark range should I ask for 2000 in very good condition. [img]/images/graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img] <font color="white"> </font>

I think you should sell it. They're going for about $250-300 in mint condition. I'll give you $325 since you seem pretty cool and I'm feeling charitable.

Who cares if you have long hair. The guitar plays like a dream, as long as the guitar's tone is correct for the music you are playing now then who cares what the guitar looks like. I saw a guy the other day on Fuse or whatever in some pop band playing a KKV tribal. As long as the guitar is right for you don't give a shit about wether it fits as long as you don't hate it yourself.

I really don't think that was the intent, he is asking if he should sell or not (I said not) and if so what the market value is for those. This seems like place to ask. Classifieds is for if your actually GOING to sell, there is no auction so E-fraid doesn't fit. Not seeing the problem.

Not saying there is a problem. Sure, he deserves the benefit of the doubt for now. Just saying that it seems pretty questionable. Maybe it's completely innocent, but one could easily interpret that post as a coy "Gee, is anyone interested in buying this really cool guitar from me?" without posting in the classifieds area. I'll bet he already has a few PMs/emails. [img]/images/graemlins/eyes.gif[/img] ...And that I seem to recall a few other similar noob posts recently.

If you like the way it plays and sounds, keep it. I just used my Snakeskin SL2H at Church the other day and I got no funny looks (and trust me I more than enough guitars to choose from but, tonewise that's the one I wanted to use for the piece). You'll be fine in any band setting using what YOU like.
