sounds like the makings of a JCF mini get together? It's right up the street from me. And I'm not sure if Dee lives in Burbank still, but I know the music school(Musonia? or something) is still in NoHo not too far from me either.
The exhibit BEGINS on Wendesday Sept 26th.
There is a Concert at 6.30, followed by the opening of the exhibit, which includes Randy's guitar.
The gentleman I spoke to said that the exhibit runs through November and the Rhoads will be on display the ENTIRE TIME!
Those who cant go Wedensday, like me (I have guitar lesson) can go for the next MONTH at least!
I viewed a piece of history earlier tonight. Randy's original guitar, the very first Jackson guitar, along with Mrs. Rhoads and Randy's sister. Wow.
The guitar appeared to be in fantastic condition. Paint still white, with no visible yellowing or finish checking. All knobs and parts were still intact. The tip of the lengthened wing was chipped, and there was a small stain of some kind around the knobs.
Black Gaffers Tape on the back, to prevent rash, looks like Powdered Graphite in the nut, I bet those are the last strings he used, the refection of them looks as though he used a metal pick.
