  • SLATQH question

I'm a HUGE fan of trans-black finishes. I'm also a huge fan of oiled/unfinished necks. Has anyone ever seen the above combination? It seems I've only seen the trans-blacks w/ painted necks.

Also, why did Jackson discontinue the oiled necks on the SLATQH's?

oiled necks on neckthrus is a pain in the ass. On bolt-ons you just paint the body, oil the neck and then assemble the guitar. On the neckthrus the neck is actually part of a body, so you have to take the entire guitar half-painted and half-oiled and make some transition zone between paint and oil. And it has to feel and look seamless, because it's what yo expect from the guitar of this price range
    Because I don't say it
    Doesn't mean I ain't thinking it
