• Need help with RR serial number

I searched this board from some help with this but couldn't find anything so I thought I'd add a new post to see if anyone can help me out: I've found a used RR Student that the seller claims to be from 1984. The serial is RR0640. I found a site called http://www.jacksonmuseum.com/ and there I found some info that said that the production of Rhoads in 1984 streched from serial number RR0295 to RR0996 so the production year 1984 seems to mak sense. However, I also found some scans of all serial number logs (specs of what guitar the serial number matches etc.) for J0001-J1002, but nothing pertaining to RR serial numbers. Does anyone know if there are ny websites with serial number logs for Rhoads models?

Nope, and it's not even worth asking Jackson, as they don't do serial number inquiries anymore. It's remarkable that those J-serials are even online, but I wouldn't hold your breath about getting specifics on that Rhoads, unless someone can vouch for its specs (and I wouldn't aorry about it being fake, if that's your concern)

Hm...that's what I thought. I was realyl surprised by eving finding those J-serials at the webpage I mentioned; a really cool resource in my opinion :-)

No, I don't think it's a fake, i was more wondering about if the Kahler was factory installed, and if the paintjob is original. Check it out:

One of the wings came off, and a piece of the head as well, but it's fixed and I kinda' like that beat-up look, so that's nothing that really bothers me. I's got a set of EMG 81/85 recently installed, which I like as well. If it had the custom neck (sharkfins, bindings etc.) rather than the student, I definetely would have got it!

Best way to tell if the Kahler is original is by looking at the back of the body - are there string-through holes? Is there a tremelo cavity? If not, then the Kahler is original.

the reason why those j-serials are online is because part of the jackson log book was stolen and later sold to the gentleman who runs that site. imo, copies should be made and the originals should have been returned to jackson a long, long time ago.

I see, that explains it all...yeah, I agree with you, the guy should return the originals and keep the copies instead. Man, I would feel really bad keeping the originals!

It would be really cool, though, if Jackson would present those logs for other serials than the J-serials on that other website :-)

Who said Jackson has the RR log...
The gentleman running Jackson Museum is Robert Witte - the co-founder of this forum. He has shared more Jackson info than rest of us combined. If Jackson would feel bad with him having the log Tim Wilson would tell him so when they talk. To the best of my understanding those guys are friends.

That's a f'n killer deal, and Jonas is a truly nice guy! It's INSANE that no one has bought that yet... I'd be all over it if I hadn't bought the beat Rhoads!!

I mean, 4500 SEK for a USA Rhoads with a spankin new Kahler and a brand new ZW set... There should be no hesitating at all... Go for it Kristian!!!!!!!!!!
