Have they cranked up the detail on the skulls in recent years? That looks a LOT better than "Pile" finishes I've seen in the past.Comment

Honestly I don't know much about skull finishes in the past. Recent (including this one) are hand-painted by Dan Lawerence, and there's his sig on a lower bout (not visible on the photo). But one thing I must say - it is even more beautiful (if this word is applicable to skulls), than it looks on any photo. There's a lot of subtle color shades, a touch of metallic on a night sky.
BTW I was not that much obsessed to get skulls particullary. It was just one of very few Kellies available at European stock at the moment and I thought that this one is cool enough and I don't want to wait for too long [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
