i saw Children of Bodom Friday Novemeber 11 at the opera house in Toronto. he wasn't playing a rhoads though, he was playing an Esp!! the same one as in the trashed lost and strung out video. I think it kinda looks like a dimebag guitar but i'm not sure. I wish he played the rhoads, a rhoads would've been way cooler. Roope allso did a wicked solo at the show.

Yes - like stated in my first post the guitar was Roope's first Jackson and he switched to 24 fret RRs later on. You can see this guitar in the early Stone clips as well as the Real Delusion promo video. I'm looking for more pics of the guitar.

Here is RR2074 which was Jiri's order but apparently later sold to Roope who sold it to Jackson Guitar Palace member...


Anyway RR2073 was the first of these "Finnish layout" Randys and started the whole thing. Since then there were a lot of Custom RRs ordered to Finland with 1 hum(J50BC), rearloaded JE1000 electronics, FR and black with either bevels or pinstripes. Alexi Laiho of course was influenced by Roope and due to COBs international success the "Finnish layout" Rhoads become very famous. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
I would guess well over 50% of all 80s rearloaded RRs were ordered to Finland. Dan Spitz had some and Chris Holmes had two but outside those two I've seen only 2-3.

His new axe is called the Random Star. sort of a charvel star body with a kramer-ish headstock. I used to hate it but ive grown to like it a little bit. usually Roope brings that guitar and one of his rhoads on the tours. last few times he brought his Black matte/Iommi cross rhoads [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

That bums me out though because you can't find guitars like that here in Kentucky. You MIGHT be able to find the telecaster copy once owned by Slash's brother's house cleaner's nephew, but even then you're pushing it.

Yes Toru. I put it there for now but I'm waiting to get a Jackson cover for it. The original cover is missing.

BTW Roope puts the springs in his guitars like this:


He has done that to Alexi's guitars as well and for some other Finnish players too. I tried it today and it seems to work really well. According to Roope putting the springs the normal way causes cross tension on the strings.
