One thing Jani. Cross tension is just natural effect. Thicker string pull harder, and because of that he put 2 springs where thin string are (in opposite or "cross" way of thick strings-low end). And 1 springs is on thick side, cuz there is less tension. That way dive bombing on low E string for example sounds better (and on some cheaper floyds string tends to stop vibrating after certain point, this way doesn't). That is benefit of putting springs that way.
There is no cross tension if you put it this or that way, cross tension is just "law of physics". It is always there but you get better floyd stability putting springs like Roope.
