Awesome guitars... they play like a dream.
They do have a somewhat thicker neck profile than your standard Jackson neck, but that's why I love playing mine.
Just buy one. If you don't like it, sell it for half what you paid for it like the rest of us
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood
The most human thing we can do is comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.
Best electric guitar I ever played and I've been playing 40 years now. You really need to play one if in doubt. I bought mine without ever playing one. I liked it so much I bought another.
Tone is like Art: Your opinion is valid. Listen, learn, have fun, draw your own conclusions.
I just bought one without having tested one previously as well - it gets loads of good feedback on this forum (try a search to dig up some of the comments & pics). Fabulous guitar. Plays really well. Sounds great. Looks great. The neck is big, but I find it more comfortable than the SL2H I've also got. I do find the lack of fret markers on the fretboard confusing at the minute, but I've only had it a few weeks, so that'll pass (I hope). The sustainer system works really well - great toy! Top guitar.
Great guitar, great tone, great playability. Yes, the neck is chunky. Not my favorite - I prefer thin necks - but enjoyable nonetheless. IMHO, probably the best thing in the Jackson USA line-up. Highly recommended.

I totally agree. Ibought my first one without playing it first and now after three, they've been very consistant as far as neck profile, quality fit and finish. The only weak area that I can think of is the sustainer. There seems to have been a lot of these that just crapped out. If you bought it brand new, Jackson will take care of it. If you bought a used one, you're out of luck. I personally have not had a problem with this, but it is something to consider. That plus the fact that PC-1 as a little pricey because of the sustainer.
The first one I had was bought used with the sustainer already removed. Great guitar, but the value was in the tanker because the sustainer was gone. I sold it and begain looking for a PC-1 with a sustainer.
The second one I had was awesome. It was a rare goldish color rootbeer. It was a great guitar. The only reason I sold it was because I was afraid that the sustainer would crap out. I bought it used so I'd be outa luck.
my PC-1's are my favorite guitars. they play great, look great and sound great. i have had problems with the sustainer "chirping" on both of mine. i pulled it out in my solar, but have learned to deal with it in my euphoria.
to me the PC-1 is the BEST guitar in the USA line right now. it has all the beauty of a PRS but with the rock factor of a jackson. it's a jackson with "class", if you will....
here's the old stand-by pics of mine PC-1's....
GEAR:
some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!
some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!
and finally....
i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!
Ditto to what everyone else says. Jacksons best guitar IMHO.
I have played almost every other brand and model out there including just all the custom builders like Anderson, Zion, Warrior, etc...
Absolutely the best tone and fretwork I have found in a guitar.
I bought mine without ever playing one. But like others here have said the necks are not like a Soloist or Ibanez. Its a big neck - but comfortable and smooth.
Its built like a tank and not a light guitar but thats why I think it has so much sustain. Have not had any problems whatsoever with the sustainer.
I've only had the chance to play one, Jims root beer that
he bought from Matts, and if he hadn't already bought it I probably would've taken it home with me.
I like the finish on that one too, the top almost matches the color of the Mahogany back. The neck is a little chunkier than other jacksons , but my
soloist neck is also chunkier than usual so to me it felt like home.
the only thing that throws me on these is the no fret markers but I can get used to that with a little time.
Sweet guitars one is definitely in my future.
Jim BTW, that 1rst one you had with the EMGs is coming up on Ebay all the time and it never goes.
good decision to move it when you did.

Those guitars look awesome. Does anyone have a picture, with the inside of electronic cavity on it?

Here ya go...
Here is it's only flaw... the battery box.
It's an off the shelf part that uses very thin wire and weak solder connections. This is crucial as it's on a pivot and moves everytime you have to replace the batteries.
Mine has broken off twice already.
Not worth sending back to Jackson to repair as it takes two seconds to fix... just annoying.
I like the design of the box, so I bought the single 9V version for another project. I will be replacing the wire and re-soldering it before it goes in. The single 9V version appears to be more stable as it doesn't have a connection wire between each side to get stressed.
Thanks for the pictures!
A lot of wires, more then I had expected. Is it difficult to change the bridge pickup?
