I had one of the 1991 Pro models, and it played itself. Literally. Had I owned it when I was first learning to play, I'm sure I'd be able to blaze affortlessly on it, because the neck and action were just perfect all the way up. I've not found another guitar that had the same effotless playability up around the 20-24th frets, and very minimal "plink". And that was a Japanese-made Pro. I can only imagine that the USA version is orgasmic.

As for the neck profile, mine had the "flatspot" neck, which can best be described as taking a fattish, round neck and flattening the center gradually from behind the 3rd fret down to the 24th.
The "shoulders" of the neck (from behind the 5th and 2nd strings to the edge of the board) were very round - you could probably lay a dime on the binding and the dime would hang off the sides very little.
The closer you got to the 24th fret, the sides of the neck tapered off more like a normal neck, but all the while there's the noticeable "flat spot" on the back of the neck right down the center.
The tip of your thumb would rest on that spot when doing scalar runs, instead of wrapping around the neck like a Strat or LP.

There was a Silver Marble Kelly at NAMM 04 with the same neck profile.

Judging by the second pic, it looks like this one may have the same neck profile, according to the way the light hits the center of the neck and doesn't reflect around the edges.

And yeah, the body style does hug you. If you've got proximity issues (hugaphobia) this ain't the guitar for you [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
