  • Rhoads serial # with J

Hello to all! I am new to the board and new to the Rhoads model guitars. I purchased a Rhodes this past summer from a guy I know. Now this guitar has the serial number J000980. Since some of the Rhodes guitars were stamped wrong how can I tell what year it is? Or can I even find out? Any help would be appretiated.

From that number, it sounds like an early Japanese Pro series....

Oh, by the way, you'll eventually get lynched if you spell Rhoads wrong!

OOPS! My mistake. I work with a guy and that is the spelling of his last name. Thanks for the heads up.

Not USA with that serial number. Definitely a MIJ Rhoads pro. Great guitar.

Dude that Gibson V is killer. What year is it? It looks like my '81, but mine has binding.

It is a 81 also. The Explorer is a 86. I looked for a V hardcore after Metallica released Kill'Em All.

Nice. Here's a shot of mine. I am the original owner. I did the same thing with the pickup rings waaaay back in the day.
