Re: need some help

Looks good. I don't think it was mentioned but that is an SL2H and you stole it flat out even with those mods. I bet when you string her up you will hardly notice the screw holes. Speaking of screw holes I have to send the girlfriend an email......

brought some junk audio face plates from work
well heres the end result ....color underneath is easily changeable...tomorrow i am gaonna bring home some purple mylar...will match better

i really do not want to cut into as i am highly unqualified ...
heres the headstock

i am going to go with a zak wyld set up ...with dual volume and tone ...should be here next week ..in the meantime ...i need to do some reading in the tech forum
about setting up the floyd correctly ...
thinking right now not much more (sting it up) i can do till the new pups arrive
thanks again all

Re: need some help

Dude I wrote a couple of articles on another forum about setting up a Floyd, and everything related to it. Feel free to PM me about it. It's not too hard.

Re: need some help

well i strung her up today ...did the old ~read till ya bleed ~ i have not wired up the HZ and i the emg 81 was a bit much ...i think instead of a zak set up i might go with something else ...stock maybe??
since all my other guitars are hardtails
i consider myself ~tremoligically challenged~ it was a bit of an adventure...the action is about as low as you can go and there aint a frett buzz anywhere
changed a bit up on the middle thingy as well ..
here's the latest pix

Re: need some help

i wired up the neck pup tonight ..mixing an active 81 and a passive hz......
well it works and is playable
...had allot of fun getting the floyd set up
and the string height to where it should be
thats aboout as far as i am gonna go until the new pups arrive
going with a Seymour Duncan Screamin' demon trembucker TB-1 and sh-n in the neck

BTW....the ~pick block~ as Newc put it ...turned out ..ok
found a purple mylar inlay to match the color better

i was also wondering out loud if i could just send it in to Jackson for a refinish
