Seems like a JRS-1 or JRS-2 modified for a tone control and single coil.

If the Jackson pickups are aftermarket that´s a possibility... but that´s an interesting setup.... May be a custom job, but for the pus to be "era correct" the wilkinson would have to be aftermarket....

Wierd axe... do you have a serial number (neckplate)?

Yes, the serial number is : 9691146

This most worth some $$ cause it's rare as hell.

So it´s an import... interesting. In that case it´s probably been pretty heavily modified along the way.

I think you are jumping to conclusions too quickly. If it was a rare model that someone chopped up, it might not be worth much at all.

Let's look at the facts. It's an import and not USA, 22 frets not 24, rosewood not ebony, not bound, no MOP sharkies, no Floyd or other locking trem, and "unusual" pickup arangement. I really can't see this worth more than $150 tops.

I got a JRS 2 in trans black in january this year, practically new, for 150€ SHIPPED, no joke.... And that´s what I at this point am pretty sure this axe is...

Can we see a pic of the headstock please?? It may even be a parts mutt, but not seeing the headstock we can´t say for sure what it is.... but after seeing that it´s an import I´m pretty sure it didn´t come that way from the factory...

Doesn't madder for the resale price, I love it.

But well, even here no one know what is the exact model of this guitar.

Re: What is this Jackson model?

Consensus seems to be that this is a Japanese made JRS2, that has been modified. The body shape, the trem & the serial number all point to this.

What suggests to you that the neck isn't original?

Well, then it´s DEFINITELY a parts mutt....

JRS 2 WERE Professional series, reverse headstock, maple or rosewood fretboard... could very well be originall...

That's all that matters. It is always worth more to someone who likes it.

I agree that so far, evidence points to this being a JRS-2. No offense, but the guitar has been downgraded. The Bill Lawrence pickup that was originally in the JRS-2 was a pretty good pickup.
