• Pics (updated) of blemished KV2

    Here's the blemished KV2 I got from zzounds.com for $1,499.

The only blemish as far as I can tell is the imperfection in the MOP Inlay. You can't feel it with your finger or by running over it with a pick so the inlay is still smooth.

Also the E and A strings are buzzin on the frets. So I'll get up the nerve to mess with the itonation soon.

Other than that nothing is wrong with it and it seems un-used.

Anything else I should look for?

There is a big dealer banner on the top of the page to begin with.

You don't change the intonation (scale length) for fret buzz, you adjust the truss rod and raise the side of the bridge where the buzz is.

DO NOT adjust the truss rod or bridge until you've had the guitar indoors for at least 7 days, especially if the guitar came from an area with a radically different climate than what you're in right now. Give it time to adapt to your environment (house) and then see if the neck needs adjustment.

And yeah, get in touch with either Matt at Matt's Music, Matt at Onlinestagegear, or Scott at Vwall (check the Dealers page here) and see if they can get you something for a better price.

However, a bird in the hand is always worth two in the bush. In this case, that means if another dealer doesn't have one in stock right now, you might end up waiting up to a year for them to get one in because of Jackson's build schedule.

Ya man, send it back. A blem should go for way less. Go get youtself a new one bro without a blem, or offer ZZ much less. Jack.

That is MAP pricing, that is not regular price. Jack.

The price you pay is a lot lower than the MAP. However, once you find out your actual price, DO NOT POST IT.

um, where's the blemish? looks ok to me, though i'd agree that getting a refund and buying a new one would be the better bet. it would negate having to sort the bridge and truss rod yourself.

I think the blemish is that dot on the inlay. Never seen it before on a Jackson like that.

I called a few local dealers about a KV2 and didn't get good pricing. I hope Matt comes through for me.

I´m not too sure that qualilfies as a Blem... though the only other time I´ve seen that on a J/C is my model 6

Many companies also sell their "returns" as Blem becasue it saves them the effort of having to scrutinize the guitar... It´s quite possible that the guitar was pre-owned....
