cripes, man that is beautiful! What am I doing in here, you guys gonna make me broke looking at these things. Back to the Import section Kevin back! haha
Wow, that looks awesome. From the pix, it looks like that Mother of Pearl is set off with some nice purple highlights...it really compliments the color.
Do you feel that the photos accurately represent the color of the guitar. I was reading on vwall's site that the pix made the purple look a bit "pinkish". Regardless, I love the looks of the guitar and look forward to a review of the Super 3 as well. Have you played an SL2H with SD's to compare?
I got #9 a few days ago. Excellent guitar. The pics really don't do it justice. It's much better looking in person.
I was a bit worried about it at first because of the pics and the fact I really don't dig on purple very much, but I am very pleased with it. It looks and plays great!
The only thing I didn't care for was the pickups, but that's a personal thing and not a problem with the guitar.
I like mine so much I'm not sure if I'll ever play my other guitar again!
I think Scott at VWall has 3 left so if you want one grab it and you'll be glad you did. He's a good guy and did an amazing job dealing with me.

So St.James are you going to change out the pups? What didn't you like about 'em?

Yeah, I'm switching them out. I have some EMG's on the way. I was going to ask Scott to switch them out before shipping, but all of my guitars have EMG's and I just wanted to try something a little different to see if I like it. I like the EMG's much better.
For me the bridge pup just seemed too overdriven and loud. The neck pup is nice and warm though. Could possibly be my rig, but with a name like "humbucker from hell" I pretty much expected a lot of distortion and high output.
For me EMG's give me everything I want so I'll stick with them.
Tone is such a personal thing I think, so you may like them. If not switching them out is a small price to pay for what you get in return.

Nope, it's a very bright pup, basically a single coil sound in a humbucking housing. Awesome neck pup, as I like brighter pups in the neck.
EMGs rock, though, and I love the 85 in the bridge with either an 81 or 60 in the neck!
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.
As stated before the pics don't do justice to the color. In person the finish looks wayyyy better. At first I was also a bit worried about the colour. But now that i'm seeing the colour in person I like it a lot.
About the pickups. Yes the name '' humbucker from hell '' is kinda misleading. The HFH is a vintage output pickup. The thing I like about this pickup that if you pump up the gain the notes stay very clear and i hear another dimension on my sound that i haven't heard before on any other pickup. It's like a humbucker but with the 'glassy' feel of a single coil on deadly steroids.
The super3 really suits my taste when i'm playings metal riffs for example. I really like the highs i'm getting and it still has the jugga-jugga bottom.
I've never played a SL2H with duncans so i can't compare.. I also never played a SL2H with EMG's but i would like to in the future. In the end pickups are a matter of personal taste. I really like this pickup combination. It suits my style.
And yes indeed an USA jackson is a total new era and makes you understand the true quality of Jackson.
