Re: Should I buy my soloist\'s twin?

imho, i wouldn't consider buying a duplicate guitar. whilst i appreciate that insurance can be slow at replacing lost/stolen etc, there's always the chance such a disaster won't happen.

I tried getting a duplicate of a strat I had. Every little thing finish wise on it that wan't exactly the same drove me NUTS!
Also, one had vintage frets and the other med-jumbos.

I couldn't stand the 'look alike'

        I wouldn't do it.

Well that just jumped up by about $200 in the last thirty seconds. Decided the coolness and the ability to confuse my friends like "i see you replaced the pickups""What're you talking about, this has always had three""it had only one last time I saw it""dude wtf are you smoking?" isn't really worth $250 more than my last one cost. Hope whoever bought it treats it well. Maybe I'll get another chance at it some day.

Re: Should I buy my soloist\'s twin?

                  If your a gigging guitarist
                  a good backup is important.
So having two guitars setup the same way isn't a bad thing.
Especially with a Floyd equipped guitar.
If you break a string, just switch to the other guitar till
you can replace the string at break time.
