Seriously, as an industry guy with 10+ years of experience, you honestly think 12-18 month build cycles for custom guitars are acceptable? 2 months just to get a quote right?

2 Months is not at all normal, Matt told me this a couple times during the process. But stuff happens. I would much rather it be taken slowly and make sure EVERYTHING is right. The one area where Jackson appears to be able to speed things up is the final setup, inspection to ship area. I think they definitely could use some help there. As it seems guitars sometimes sit in "holding" for much longer than seems necessary. But yet again from people who were at NAMM I think John is making a real effort to try and fix problem areas in the custom shop to shave times down. What he won't do is compromise what the company is about or risk the quality. Your ideas all sound interesting BYEH but I think John who has been in this industry a long time knows alot more about it than you could possibly ever. And thats not meant as a slam, its just simple logic.

Excellent graphics, aren't you a few years off the CNY cycle with the Dragon?

2000 was the year of the Dragon. My reference to CNY was only in relation to the timing of my CS order.

Mike, I'll just send you a PM about my stuff. That way I won't litter this thread with too much of my own details! And by the way, I meant no offense to guys who don't go wild with options. I like some basic, classic designs myself.

Scott, the information in your PM is invaluable (to me). Not only do I have an increased confidence in what I'd like to order, but the manner in which I should proceed. Thank YOU for taking the time.

Wassu!!! BTW, are you working towards an internship? Consulting? or Banking? How are the accounting and finance courses coming along?

Anyway, in the spirit of this new year (Chinese), my theme is lung (Chinese for dragon).....so, I'm going to "attempt" to get such a graphic on my RR.

Oh, and Mr. Fong, I've got yet another Suhr Standard dropping in March. Here's the BANGING top I picked out (and dinkyjacksonman have I got a dealer for you!!)
