Re: Introducing, JA0474..............

Nice guitar! Too bad about the finish crack but if she is a keeper than screw it, a lifetime of use will probably cause a few more blemishes(at least if it were mine).

i don't know if it's couriors, customs or jackson themselves, but EVERY guitar i've ordered has had at least a blemish on the body. i suspect the trem arm not being secured properly is the worst suspect, at least whenever the guitar comes in a box rather than a hardshell case. my dxmg came in a box with the trem arm celloptaped around the covered headstock, whereas it nowhere to be found in the box that housed my wrmg. i prefer to walk into a shop, inspect the guitar as thoroughly as possible, and only then do i want to buy.

I'd pair this with a PRS any day.

That's a low blow - comparing a Jackson to a PRS

I don't know about that,I have owned quite a few PRSi and not one has had a finish crack.......

I would keep the guitar if it was mine. Some sort of compentsation would be nice ( from Jackson, not Scott), discount on your next Jackson, partial refund, etc.

Jacksons clear seems to have less flex to it than their colors do. You see this happen a lot on the seams with their clear finsih. If it didn't have the crack when you got it most likly it would have got it over time from the woood shrinkage.

BTW, killer guitar !!! Actually getting a concept to a real life guitar and having it be all you wanted is awesome !!!

Bingo! You are at the mercey of a lot of factors. I could have flown to Cali, but they wouldn't let me take it any way!

Re: Introducing, JA0474..............

Back in August I was told there was a mistake made on my guitar. They didn't drill the through holes in a V pattern and the neck was not a three piece flamed maple. It was a one piece (scarf joint) in birdseye maple. They had to rebuild the whole guitar.

I wondered what would happen to that first guitar and Eric pointed out that there is a similar guitar to mine on the music zoo site. Well I compared it to some pics Jackson had sent me of the first guitar. The quilt tops matched so I'm sure it's the same one. It also has the same exact pickups (HFH and Super 3). Looks like they finished it in the newer style Chlorine So if any one is interested.......

Ha! I never thought of it that way!

I haven't decided yet about ordering another custom shop or not. I would like a reverse headstock bolt on arch top. I've also always want to order a Les Paul from their custom shop. I know I can't do both. Shit, I'll have a hard enough time doing one!

How does this sound...
Dinky archtop body, solid mahogany with black binding
1 hum - 1 single
black hardware
Floyd
24-3/4 scale birdseye maple neck and fret board 24 fret
black neck and head binding with abalone reverse sharks and abalone logo on a reverse headstock.

Thats been in my head for about a year now. We'll see.

That sounds pretty damn cool I'd be tempted to leave the headstock natural, to keep with the abalone and maple vibe....
