Meet J6466 - Dave Mustaine's final Y2KV prototype...

This guitar was the final Y2KV prototype before they started the productions. Specs can be seen on the WO. I also got various other documentation with it. Came with OHSC, strap and a tuner. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

This was used by Dave in 1999-2000 and given to his friend before the famous online auctions. Robert Witte got it in early 2001 and now it ended here in a combined deal.

Amazing player with lightweight mahogany woods that RESONATE. Lots of battle scars! [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]

Compared to my two other Flying Vs this one feels a lot different. It's lightweight and rings out loudly acoustically. The whole body and neck resonate a lot - kinda like SGs. I have one 1985 Jackson Flying V and it's really heavy and has more of a Les Paul sound.

I got the package on Thursday but it was Tiia's birthday so I didn't check the guitar out until yesterday. I will be playing it a lot during the weekend. The neck is like later KV1 necks.

I also got a list of all Y2KVs build before production started and what suprises me is that there are only two black string-thru customs and the other one still doesn't have the deeper V-cutout. The two Floyd Rose Y2KVs were ordered right after this one was completed and they were ready in July 30, 1999. One of those is the guitar from the live DVD. They also didn't have the deep cutout cause if they did FR wouldn't fit in there.
