Damn Jack. Thats a shame. I oredered my custom shop with the speed neck profile and it's not that bad. I know the profile on a production soloist is around .850 at the 12th. it also depends on the shape of the profile. Unfortunately, that is something that can be different from guitar to guitar. I'm not sure what standard they go by to keep that consistant, but I believe they are all shaped by hand which can vary from builder to builder. ( I think).

I hope this works out for you. If it was a mistake by Jackson, I can't say that I'm suprised. I hope it wasn't.

    Good luck!

The difference between the SL and speed neck is pretty modest, IMHO. Give it time, and you'll get used to it. Probably quicker than you think.

I hope so, I really love the guitar, but like I said I sold a Soloist with the Speed Neck because it was too thin for me, I prefer them on the chunky side and my last 2 SL2H`s had chunky necks, so I figured this one would also, well it isn`t. I am pretty darn picky about my necks and thin is not good at all with me. I will measure it ASAP. Thanks-Jack.

Leave nothing to guess for the CS to do. If you want a thick profile, measure a neck you like and provide them measurements...

Their necks are hand shaped and hand finished so they vary from one to another. Unless you tell them specific dimensions, it's open to interpretation.

So true, but this one is really on the thin side and I am really curious on what it specs out on the 3rd and 12th fret. Jack.

I used a micrometer to measure mine. I made sure to specify that, becuase I did have a particular neck in mind that I wanted my order to have.

I just saved the site to hard disk and uploaded it for you. Just open the .htm file with your internet browser. Think of it as opening the internet site directly from your computer, you don't need internet connection for that. It's easy, you don't need to log in or anything.

Hey man, your link doesn`t take me to a .htm file, it taked me to a site to download some program to download files, something called Rapid Share SL. Do I nead that to download your file? I am a little nervous adding that program to my computer. Thanks man-Jack.

Sorry to here this. I prefer the thinner necks myself, and your axe is making my mouth water. I need to figure out what year Jackson switched from the thin neck soloist to the thick neck version.
