my question is simalar to garys blues question, i bought a jackson for $300 it is black, the neckplate has a p.o box from san dimas. the plate that supposed to cover the springs is missing and for color it says black with purple (i cant really see the purple though) the number 4874 is on the neckplate. is that the serial #? i cant find any other numbers.. it is in great shape, plays real nice. someone told me i paid too much though. i have no idea what model it is or what year it was made.

now can someone tell me what i bought? a friend told me he wouldnt have paid over $50 for it but i think he was just laying the groundwork to scam me into selling it to him real cheap in the future.... also thanks to model88 for giving me info about posting a picture

Your "friend" is trying to scam you. Can't say the exact model... pictures are too blurry and small. Looks like its had some mods done to it.
Worth at least $500. Nice score

Looks to be from 1987 or early 88. Check the neck pocket - it may have the exact date. And yes 4874 is the serial number. Unfortunately during 87-89 the serial numbers are a mess but the JT-6 tells me it's an earlier one. Later on they started using JT590.My band here -> http://www.diceoffate.com/
