Huge thanks to Mark and Ian!
This will be my SRV tribute guitar. It's the closest thing to his "Charley" strat that I've seen among J/C guitars. I received it yesterday, took it apart and set it up with 11s. This was my first experience with Sperzels, Wilkinson trem and Anderson pickups. So far I like them a lot.
The guitar has a really nice overall sound. Not loud acoustically but very nicely balanced and musical - similar to my black star. Overall it's much like one would expect from professional musician's instrument. This was originally custom ordered by Peter Fischer in 1994 when he was a Jackson endorsee. He is a great guitarist from Germany and best known for his instructional videos. You can see this guitar on his website too: http://www.peterfischergitarre.de/
Anyway Mark bought the guitar from Peter some 5 years ago and now he was kind enough to sell it to me.
Beautiful birdseye maple neck with thick dark rosewood board, small frets. Actually the guitar was originally ordered with a thin maple neck but it was too unstable for Peter so Jackson had to make him another neck for the guitar. Mark still has the maple neck. The guitar has a push-pull volume knob for coil splitting which makes it really versatile.
Enough talk - here are some pics...
And finally here is Stevie Ray Vaughan with his "Charley"...
