  • how much is too much for RR2 (i think)

How much is too much to pay for an RR2 i think it's called. It's the bolt on neck USA model, no inlays, 2 hums, 22 frets. How much is too much without a case?

I'm going to email him my offer, and see what he does.

It depends (as always) on condition, case included or not, things like that. The pickups are Armstrongs and the trem is the licensed JT580LP, which turns some people off. The local Guitar Center had a NOS RR2 tagged at $899 for the longest time and it wasn't moving. I offered them $600 repeatedly and they'd only take that if I bought a case separately (they had conveniently "accidently sold the Jackson case") for $120. Two weeks after I made my final offer, they marked it down to $399 and I snagged it.

I kept it for several years and finally sold it to a shop...for $500 with case. Why? After playing it at a gig, I determined that a long pointy guitar was not going to work on small stages, and I can't justify keeping guitars I can't play live. If you could get one in clean condition for $500-600, it wouldn't be a bad deal, but they can be had for less.
