Well... shoot. Yeah... I dunno, if it were my guitar I probably wouldn't care (but I would notice). I voted "yes" only in that this is a custom guitar and it seems you're not totally 100% happy with it. I would try a different trussrod cover first and see if that doesn't help.
    Goodluck! Beautiful KV! Just gorgeous!

If it irritates you that much considering all the coin you dropped on it I'lkd say yeah make em fix it. If it's something that doesn't get to you & just getting a Regular TRC for it to even it out , wouldn't be a bad idea . Maybe get 1 of the custom ones that some of the guys around here make.

      Sweet KV also

        Considering it's a 7 string...and a huge headstock.
I'd say try a normal (or even slightly enlarged) truss cover first.

Huntin' Doung can help you there!

Put a proper truss rod cover on it, and leave it. Why does it have that retarded stumpy truss rod cover anyway?

To cover up a finish flaw. (I recently discovered...) Like instead of repairing, they picked up this piece of crap to cover up the flaw...

That's fucked up! I'd let your dealer know and have it returned to be fixed.

Compare: old and new... Look close at the last pic, you can just see the flaw, right after the nut, below the high E...

                Flaw:

Now, I know the new truss-rod cover looks better, the issue is the logo placement, and the finish flaw. Is it worth sending back to 'repair' or not?
I'll try to get a good pic of the 2 guitars together again...

If it makes you happy, go for it.

I'm very specific with what I wanted, and notified them before the build...

The flaw - i wouldn't worry about it. Use the new cover. It looks way better.

The logo placement - it's bad, but worth the hassle sending it back?... or even making Jackson/the retailer agree on a return?... i dunno.
