    ???????????????????????????????

Either you have zero knowledge of guitar repair or you´re just complaining becasue you want to bitch at something, regardless of what..

You would honestly prefer it to be done in an unprofessional fashion???

Bottom line: The heat press has been a tried and true method for correcting neck warps and bows for longer than anyone here has been alive, much less building, repairing or playing guitar.

Jeezus, everytime I read a thread like this, I immediately realize why I closed my retail shop: I was sick and tired of people whining and not having any idea why or what about.... but of course it´s all the fault of one or 2 people, even if the only fault is an unreasonable expectation of the customer on how his ( in this case apparently legit) issue should be handled.

Like Scott said, Get a Clue, World... it´s unfortunately not just America where People is usually an acronym for

I know a little something about guitars, aside from playing for over 20 years in various metal bands(maybe you know All That Remains) I also guitar teched for Iced Earth. My experience with a heat press has not been good but I understand that it often works well. Twisted necks will sometimes return a few months to years after a pressing, some never return. I bought a NEW GUITAR, not a warped neck then heat pressed repaired one. I want a replacement, not a repair. I didn't sight the guitar for a twist when I got it because it didn't cross my mind being a high end guitar that was freshly set up. From now on it will be the first thing I check on any Jackson.

Sorry if I came off a bit hard, hadn´t had my coffee yet. I can understand your feelings well, actually. I´d certainly be a bit miffed as well.

BTW, All that remains rings a bell, but I can´t tell which one.... you guys ever play in Freiburg?

I played with them for about 3 1/2 years and I played on the first album. They have toured Europe but not with me. No sorry needed, I get testy when I visit this thread too!

Jackson called today, they said the repair was done. They pulled the frets and re-leveled the fret board to remove the twist. The tech said it came out great, better than the production models. I'm nervous about the repair but I will save my judgement until it arrives. I will update when it gets here!

Still no guitar, when I last posted the tech said he would string it up and overnight ship. I guess he ran into some problems........

I think I could live with that fix. It sounds like they worked with the problem instead of trying to heat it into submission. I wouldnt have been able to live with the heat press fix. Just seems like the wood would do what it wants and would probably return to its normal state (warped) at some point. Let us know when you get it back and how it turns out.

                Oh and PICTURES too! GL

Just my two cents, but I I dont think Scott did anything unreasonable. I own a store and I wouldnt offer a refund on a guitar from 2 months. A swap for the same thing, yeah, but not a refund. I clearly read that Scott was only trying to save you the shipping expense by sending you to a local dealer.
I thing that the guitar may have had a peice of wood that was prone to warping and it very easily could have warped in those two months.

Hopefully the guitar will be spot on when you get it back.

I have had scott do setups for my Jacksons and he did a DAMN fine job. He got my Warrior USA down to 3/64th action with a Floyd... with no buzz...

I picked it up today, at last! I am going to spend a little time with it before I give a review but so far it looks very good. I have the action low and the heavy E is hardly buzzing. If they planned the neck then I can't tell, the serial number looks the same. Frets look very good, stay tuned!

Guitar plays great(as it should) the long wait sucked, the repair is very good. I can't tell it was done except for the way it plays and the new nut. I paid shipping($29)twice to get this but I got a very good price from Vwall on it so whatever. Everyone should know that if their neck twists on their new guitar it will be fixed very well, you will wait a little over 4 months. Maybe someone can give me some tips on photography, I always get blurry pics!
