        I still can decide if I want a 6 string string thru tuned down or a 7 string.

          Go for the 7! They're fun

              Various artists I have teched for tune all over the place (A440, Eb, D, Drop D, C, Drop C, etc), but for the "B" tuning, I have used 58's and 60's

                Using that chart as a guide for tension, the rough mapping would be:
                • 10 Eb would map to 12 or 13 for a B
                • 13 Bb -> 16 or 17 F#
                • 17 Gb -> 20 or 22 D
                • 26 Db -> 36 or 38 A
                • 36 Ab -> 52 or 54 E
                • 46 Eb -> 60 or 62 B

                So a 12-56 Jazz Medium set would work good. The thing I don't like about some of those heavier guage sets is most of them come with a wound 3rd string and that never feels right. You can unwound strings up to 26 or so - I usually get single 22s or 24s unwound to use with 12s or 13s.
                I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

                  Thanks.
                  I'm going to get a tremolno to lock down the OFR and get EXL110-7's and take out the .10 and use the 13-17-26-36-46-56 and tune my black SL2H down to B standard. I'd prefer not to have to buy a 7 string and right now my black SL2H is just sitting in its case being a back up. The cost of a tremolno and a set up strings is cheaper than buying a new guitar.

                    13s is the way to go.
