  • Jackson Strat head

How rare would an original neck with Jackson logo and Strat Head be? This neck goes back to about 1989. Also, the neck plate has no serial number, was that for special orders or endorsers?

Jackson Strathead necks are rare, but not totally out of the norm.

With a blank neck-plate, my initial thought is "parts guitar".

+1 .. usually endorsers got serialized guitars that were logged
Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes! ~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~

A neck that looks like this?

They were sold as replacement necks.

Yes, the neck looks very much the same. The neck plate is also similar except it has the Charvel logo, and address. The area where the serial number would have been stamped is blank.
Nice neck, but not very rare I guess.

Are you looking at the one from eBay? I think that is a parts mutt.
I believe I've seen Charvel plates on a Jackson Strathead, but not blank ones. What is up with that control route? I'm not completely hip on USA Jacksons but that does not look to be a typical Jackson/Charvel route.

Ah.. he even says its an Anderson body with a Jackson neck.. parts guitar.
A blank Charvel San Dimas plate is worth some depending on demand, few hundred to over 500..neck and body.. varies. A Jackson strathead.. I suppose over 300.00 would not be out of ballpark. An Anderson body..again probably the same price range.

I have 2 of them. One is a Jackson woodburn that was virgin (NoS) when I got. You don't see too many out there so yeah they are fairly rare

                Quite rare actually.

There are more real Charvel logo'd Strathead than Jackson logo'd stratheads....
