Agreed. I'd love to get one. They look great. But the prices are flat out crazy.

For that kind of money I'll go CS and get EXACTLY what I want.

Those prices are insane!! And why the hell would they use the crappy, overrated JB in the bridge of these when the originals used the Pearly Gates?!?

            JBs were very common, Toe.

Yeah, back in the day, but not in the "reissue" Shannons they made in '97 or '98.

My thoughts as well - I wonder if you could use exactly the same specs on a CS order, cos the chances are you'd save at least $1000?

Agreed. I just don't get that at all. Same thing with the 25th Ann. guitars. I think these kind of special runs would be a heck of a lot more successful if they were priced somehere in between USA Select and full custom shop pricing.

Yeah, that sort of price point would make a lot of sense - How many people out there are going to pay 3 times the cost of a solid colour SL2H for one of these new Shannons?

My view on these 'retro' guitars is that in alot of cases, the serious hardcore collector would want an original from the 80's, and very few 'others' are going to pony up the cash.
