You can get them new for less than 2k, so I'd say a good used price would be less than $1699, especially if it doesn't have a strathead....
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

I guess the batteries were dead and I didn't feel like dealing with a salesman, so I just played it unplugged. They were asking $1699, what's a good used price for these?
I think it's a little high, but I'll buy anything (right Scott?) LOL! I have a 20% off coupon for GC this weekend, wish I could send it to you and then it really would be a decent deal! If you are really interested in it, work with the salesperson, they will usually cut you a deal. Good luck!

Nice PC1! I have three myself. I've been thinking about getting a Purple Daze but most of the ones I've seen look like easter eggs. Yours has a nice even color and great quilt. But based on this thread, I'm not sure if you're happy with or not? He He.

Actually...I was wanting a Euphoria, but was "talked into" this Purple thing. Boy am I glad. You have to see these finishes in person to really appreciate them. Anybody got a used Euphoria cheap? *giggle*

It will still work with dead batteries. That was not the problem exactly.

When the batteries are dead and you have the sustainer system switches set to the 'On" position then you will get no sound.

When you set the switches to the "off" position you will get sound even when the batteries are dead. The switches were just set wrong.

The necks are great on these guitars. Funny everyone that gets these things loves them. They sound great because of the wood combination, maple neck and fretboard and of course the sustainer. They are killer looking in person too. Pics don't do them justice.
            PLAY TILL U DIE !!!

I sort of remember reading that there were actually two Belas, One was a Soloist, the other a bolt-on. And one was Floyd'd the other Kahler'd. Don't quote me on it, though - my memory is notoriously horrible.

Ok, I'm bordering on being a Phil Collen groupie here, but there is a great interview with Def Leppard at AT&T Blueroom, and the most interesting is Phil's interview because he talks very enthusiastically about his PC-1's! He even plays a bit (such a show off!) and as an added bonus, you get to see Bela. Take a look if ya want to and enjoy!!!!

Go into the "Behind The Scenes" tab on the left and then you can click on whatever video you want to see!

Hey Diana, I was thinking of doing a special run of Phil's Speedloader PC1. When I asked the question at the Jackson clinic if the Speedloader PC1 would become a production model, I got mixed answers. John Walker (a.k.a) jcmktgguy would like to see it as a production model and Tim Wilson didn't. Tim was concerned about finding a spare string if one broke. Tim said, the Speedloader version of the PC1 was built at the request of Phil to be a tribute to Floyd Rose. I don't see a problem with the strings, but maybe a LTD series is needed?
Does this sound like an idea? I can post it in the proper section.

I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination, but my opinion is, if you can get past the lack of tuners and all of the mechanics work proper, why not have a limited run? But if you are old school and want the regular Floyd Rose type bridge, this ones not for you. Too me, it looks cool, but a lot of that is the finish on Phil's guitar. Strings could be a problem if the availability is limited. So, bottom line, for me anyway, is the Jackson people need to make the call and see if there is a viable market out there. I had a rather long wait for my Daze, so I kind of cringe at the direction that might lead for them. JMO.

One of the dealers here can sponsor a limited edition run on a Speedloader version (Or as John calls it, the "Made for TV" model) LOL! . Most of the limited runs can take 6-12 months to complete. (I'm waiting on a PC1 limited run that is coming up on 1 year now). The limited's are less expensive than a full blown Custom Shop, but typically slightly more than a production USA model. Just some idea's. Maybe Mr. Walker can make a production version happen, although he'll have to convince Tim of doing it, since Tim is the Production Manager. John, you have any weight in the production department?
